Hot on the heels of Filipina designer Mara San Pedro being named a finalist for the prestigious Redress Design Award 2025, another Filipino talent is making a fashion statement on the global fashion stage. 

A proud trans woman and celebrated designer, Veejay Floresca has been announced as one of the contestants for “Project Runway” Season 21.

Floresca first rose to prominence in the inaugural season of “Project Runway” Philippines. Now, she is set to bring her vision and voice to the international version of the hit fashion competition.

Known for making modern design with wearability and artistic flair, Floresca has also been a strong advocate for trans visibility within the fashion industry.

“Finally, the moment I’ve been waiting for. I’m competing for Project Runway Season 21,” she wrote in a social media post, expressing both gratitude and anticipation for the journey ahead.

In her contestant bio shared by E! News, Floresca is described as “a fearless designer and proud trans woman from the Philippines,” praised for her “fiercely competitive and unapologetic personality along with her aesthetic that combines modernity, wearability and art.”

Her participation in this global platform marks another proud milestone for the Philippines, reinforcing the country’s growing influence in the world of fashion. 

With creativity rooted in her cultural identity and a commitment to inclusivity, Floresca continues to push boundaries and this time on a world stage.

The upcoming season of “Project Runway” sees the return of original host Heidi Klum, alongside longtime judge Nina Garcia and fashion stylist Law Roach.

Twelve designers will compete for the coveted title, promising a showcase of bold ideas, unique perspectives and the kind of fashion moments the series is known for.

The show is set to premiere on July 31 and can be seen on Disney+, Hulu and Freeform.
