K-pop superstar Lisa of Blackpink made her acting debut, and it’s one she’ll never forget.
The Thai singer stepped into the world of scripted drama as Mook, a hotel employee in the Thailand-set season of HBO’s “The White Lotus,” marking her first on-screen role outside of music videos and performance stages.
Lisa starred alongside Tayme Thapthimthong, who portrayed Gaitok, a character infatuated with Mook. Their dynamics played out in several key scenes throughout the season, which offered viewers a glimpse of Lisa’s acting range in both emotional and subtly comedic moments.
Taking to Instagram to reflect on her journey, Lisa wrote, “What a ride. Thank you Mike White for trusting in me to fulfill the role of Mook and bring her character to life. It was the greatest honor to be part of this show as my first acting gig alongside such incredible actors.”

The “Rockstar” hitmaker also shared how deeply personal the experience became. She expressed pride in representing her Thai roots on a global platform, noting, “I’m so proud to be able to share my culture and show the beauty of Thailand to the world.”
Though the season has wrapped, Lisa’s portrayal of Mook has left a lasting impression not only on fans but on herself as well.
She revealed how playing the role allowed her to grow in unexpected ways: “Mook has changed my life in a way where I am learning more about myself and my capabilities.”
The end of “The White Lotus” may mark the close of one chapter, but Lisa hinted that this is only the beginning. As she put it, “My Sunday nights may feel a lot emptier but closing out ‘The White Lotus’ with a full heart.”
Meanwhile, captivating the spotlight at this year’s Oscars, Lisa dazzled in a shimmering black dress as she delivered a one-of-a-kind performance and became the first K-pop artist to perform at the Academy Awards.
