Tony Award-winning Filipina actress and international stage icon Lea Salonga recently graced the pages of New York Magazine’s highly anticipated Yesteryear: Broadway Legends issue for April 2025.
In celebration of its anniversary, the magazine gathered 29 of Broadway’s most celebrated performers to commemorate their iconic roles, capturing each legend through the lens of renowned photographer Mark Seliger.
For Salonga, it was a tribute to her unforgettable portrayal of Kim in Miss Saigon, the role that catapulted her to global stardom and earned her the 1991 Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical.
“Woohoo!!! Finally it’s out!!!” the Filipina performer excitedly shared on her social media, reacting to the issue’s release.
Salonga appears alongside some of the most revered names in Broadway history, including the legendary Liza Minnelli, featured as herself in “Liza With a ‘Z’” (1972) and Harvey Fierstein as Arnold Beckoff in “Torch Song Trilogy” (1982).
