Liza Soberano turned heads at the 2nd Manila International Film Festival (MIFF 2025), marking her second time attending the film festival.
The Filipino American actress, known for her Hollywood debut role in “Lisa Frankenstein,” shared her excitement about the festival’s growing influence in bringing together Fil-Am and Filipino filmmakers and actors.
“This is my second time here attending, and I’m really happy that we’re making more efforts to kind of bridge the gap between Filipino Americans and the Philippines in all of the movies and the filming industry,” the “Alone/Together” star said in an interview with Inquirer.net USA.

The actress further expressed her enthusiasm for being part of MIFF’s biggest edition yet.
“It’s really an exciting time. I’m really excited to be here. This is the biggest event that MIFF has hosted, so I’m really excited to be part of this moment, celebrating our pride as Filipinos,” she said.
Beyond the glitz of the festival, Soberano looked forward to reconnecting with industry peers and forming new creative partnerships.
As an advocate for elevating Filipino representation in global cinema, Soberano is taking an active role behind the scenes.
She launched her own production company in 2024, a move that aligns with her vision of bringing fresh and compelling narratives to the forefront.

Meanwhile, her former on-screen partner, Enrique Gil, made his debut as a producer in the same year. Now, the two are reportedly collaborating on a new film concept that aims to push the boundaries of Philippine storytelling.
With her production company fully operational, the “Forevermore” lead actress teased multiple projects currently in development.
“A lot more will be coming out within the next few weeks. It is definitely something my fans will look forward to,” she revealed.
As she embraces new roles both in front of and behind the camera, Soberano remains committed to pushing Philippine cinema to greater heights.
