“My Love Will Make You Disappear” stars Kim Chiu and Paulo Avelino have arrived in Los Angeles, Calif., to attend the Manila International Film Festival (MIFF) 2025.

The two lead stars departed on Wednesday (Philippine time) to attend the highly anticipated event and engage in a series of press interviews ahead of their movie’s North America release on March 28.

The 2nd MIFF opened Tuesday with the screening of “Eraserheads: Combo on the Run,” Maria Diane Ventura’s documentary film about the iconic band, at the famed TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood.

Beyond their MIFF appearance, the “Linlang” actors will also be busy promoting the film, making rounds with the media to introduce it to a wider audience.

Following their quick trip to LA, the two will return to the Philippines to resume their promotional tour, which includes stops in key cities—one of them being the “It’s Showtime” host’s hometown, Cebu.

The romcom, originally set for a Feb. 12 release, was rescheduled to maximize its reach and impact.

A production of ABS-CBN’s Star Cinema, “My Love Will Make You Disappear” brings Chiu and Avelino together for their first major film project after their highly successful series “Linlang.”

Under the direction of Chad Vidanes and the scriptwriting duo Patrick Valencia and Isabella Policarpio, the story centers on Sari (Chiu), a woman convinced she’s under a strange curse after her past lovers vanish without a trace. She crosses paths with Jolo (Avelino), a landlord struggling to keep his apartment building afloat.

As they work together to save the community from eviction, Sari’s unusual predicament threatens to disrupt their growing connection.

Star Cinema expressed confidence in the film’s new release schedule, emphasizing that the delay allows for expanded promotional efforts and fresh opportunities to introduce the film to international audiences. This strategy mirrors the successful overseas rollout of “Hello, Love, Again,” the highest-grossing Filipino movie in North America.

Filipino audiences won’t have to wait much longer either, as the film is set to hit local theaters on March 26.

Tickets and screening details of the four-day MIFF at the TCL Theatre are available here.

A portion of the proceeds from the MIFF events, including its screenings, will be donated to the Los Angeles fire relief efforts.
