Directed by Chad Vidanes and written by Patrick Valencia and Isabella Policarpio, the story follows Sari (Chiu), a woman who believes she’s cursed after experiencing a series of disappearing romantic partners.

Meanwhile, Jolo (Avelino), a landlord struggling with a declining apartment complex, crosses paths with her as they work together to prevent a community from being displaced. However, Sari’s supposed curse looms over their budding romance.

“Our per-screen averages surpassed even the biggest Hollywood studio films,” said film executives, pointing to the increasing demand for Filipino content overseas in an exclusive report from Variety.

The partnership between Star Cinema, global theatrical distributor Abramorama and international entertainment marketing firm Amorette Jones Media Consulting aims to extend the film’s reach beyond its home audience.

“Filipino films continue to gain recognition worldwide, and ‘My Love Will Make You Disappear’ is a testament to the power of kilig as a cultural export,” noted ABS-CBN Films head Kriz Gazmen, referencing the uniquely Filipino feeling of romantic excitement that has become a signature of the country’s cinematic appeal.

Star Cinema expressed excitement about the new premiere date, emphasizing that the delay allows for “new developments and exciting opportunities” to introduce the film to an even broader audience.

The romantic-comedy movie will be released in the Philippines on March 26.
