OPM star Maki lands spot in The Global Choice 100

Filipino singer-songwriter Maki, known for his hit track “Dilaw” and “Saan,” is currently making some positive buzz on the international music scene.
The rising OPM star has secured the No. 50 spot on The Global Choice’s 100 Global Music Artists of 2024, a list celebrating musical talent that has “captivated audiences worldwide.”
The Global Choice is a platform dedicated to recognizing excellence across fashion, beauty, music and entertainment. Topping this year’s list is BTS member V, who has been named “The Global Choice: Global Icon 2024.”

According to The Global Choice, the rankings honor artists who have left a “profound legacy on the global music landscape.”
“We are thrilled to unveil the annual list featuring the most outstanding and remarkable music artists,” The Global Choice stated. “This prestigious list transcends borders, genres and languages to honor artists who have made a profound impact on the global music scene.”
In a social media post, the “Namumula” hitmaker’s success was announced by his management, Tarsier Records. They wrote, “MAKI GOING GLOBAL. Congratulations to our hit-maker!”
The MYX Music Awards 2024 Breakthrough Artist of the Year’s inclusion in the rankings comes as no surprise, given his success in the OPM industry.
In 2024, his track “Dilaw” performed exceptionally well on various music charts and streaming platforms. He once held the title of the most-streamed male OPM artist on Spotify, with 6.5 million monthly listeners.
As he expands his reach, Maki is also treating fans to new music. His latest single, “Bughaw,” has been met with enthusiasm, and he recently sold out his first major concert at the New Frontier Theater.
