Many Filipinas continue to break barriers globally, gaining recognition for their achievements in various fields.

The winery’s Baguio-born owner, Feli Ortega, says the wine is a tribute to the strong women in her life — her late mother, who was a devoted teacher, and her sisters and nieces, who are in the nursing field.

“Pinay Noir is finally here, and she’s delicious and gorgeous as intended,” Felicità Wine Company has announced in a social media post.

The winery describes Pinay Noir as a “blend of bright red fruit and subtle earthy tones, showcasing our region’s distinctive allure.”

It embodies Ortega’s passion for winemaking and her respect for the artistry, depth and complexity of the Filipina spirit.

According to their website, Ortega “fell in love with the beauty of the wine country long before she had an appreciation for wine.”

“Perhaps it was growing up around vineyards or her pilgrimages to world-renowned wine regions or working with award-winning winery architects that developed her affinity towards vineyards and the winemaking process,” states their website.

Since she started producing wine in 2015, Felicità Wine Company has consistently enriched its portfolio with a diverse range of varietals.

Pinay Noir has also charmed wine lovers with its artistic label, designed by Fil-Am artist Franceska Gámez.

Born in Manila and raised in the Bay Area,  Gamez is known for her murals in California, Washington, D.C., Bali, Barcelona and Amsterdam.

The striking label design, like the wine itself, is a celebration of resilience, identity and artistry, and reflects the intersection of contemporary and traditional Filipino elements.

Pinay Noir, the perfect purchase for a Galentine’s Day gathering or a romantic Valentine’s Day dinner, is available online and in retail locations announced on their social media page.
