“It has been so heartbreaking to witness the devastation in this incredible city,” she said. “I love LA so much. I’ve lived here my whole life. I find this place so beautiful and so inspiring.”
Ahead of the said event, the singer-songwriter admitted exclusively to Rolling Stone that performing in her hometown adds an extra layer of pressure.
“I get really nervous for the LA and New York shows because all my friends are there, and so having it be filmed was also just another element of nerve-wracking,” she shared.
Still, she found the experience special, emphasizing how Los Angeles has shaped her artistry over the years.
“I have such a connection to LA, and LA has served as so much inspiration for me. It felt serendipitous,” she said.
The night had a star-studded lineup featuring Katy Perry, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Lady Gaga, Sting, No Doubt, John Mayer and more. Their collective performances amplified the urgent call to aid wildfire victims, making the night not only a musical spectacle but a testament to the resilience of Los Angeles communities.
