LOS ANGELES – Hollywood stars Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have finalized their divorce.

The power couple were initially engaged to be married in the early 2000s but parted ways before ever tying the knot. Lopez instead married singer Marc Anthony and was briefly engaged to baseball slugger Alex Rodriguez, while Affleck married actress Jennifer Garner.

But Lopez and Affleck were both back on the market in 2021 when they rekindled their relationship. The pair were married on July 16, 2022. Lopez filed for divorce on Aug. 20 in Los Angeles Superior Court.

Documents filed Monday show that the former couple is now officially divorced, that Lopez’s maiden name will be restored and that the two will split attorneys’ fees.

The marriage was the fourth for Lopez, 55, and the second for Affleck, 52. The couple officially separated last April 26.

In late May 2024, Lopez announced the cancellation of her summer concert tour. Officials with Live Nation said at the time that she was “taking time off to be with her children, family and close friends.”

In a message posted on her OntheJLo website, Lopez wrote in May, “I am completely heartsick and devastated about letting you down. Please know that I wouldn’t do this if I didn’t feel that it was absolutely necessary.”

“I promise I will make it up to you and we will all be together again,” she wrote.

The tour had been scheduled to include Southland stops on July 11 at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, July 13 at Honda Center in Anaheim and July 19 at Acrisure Arena in Palm Desert. (CNS)
