K-pop girl groups ILLIT, Le Sserafim nominated for Billboard Music Awards

The anticipation for the 2024 Billboard Music Awards has reached a peak with the release of the nominees list on Nov. 25. 

Among the highlights of this year’s event are K-pop groups ILLIT and Le Sserafim, making waves as the only girl groups nominated.

Their tracks, “Magnetic” by ILLIT and “Perfect Night” by Le Sserafim, are competing for the Top Global K-pop Song award.

The category is stacked with fierce competition, as BTS’ Jungkook enters the race with two nominations for his hits “Standing Next to You” and “3D,” alongside Jimin’s track, “Who.” 

Jungkook, however, is the undeniable standout of this year’s awards, earning an impressive six nominations, including Top Global K-pop Artist and international honors for Top Song Sales Artist and Top Selling Song.

On the other hand, K-pop boy groups Stray Kids and TOMORROW X TOGETHER (TXT) continue to leave their mark with multiple nominations.

Stray Kids secured four nods, reflecting their growing global influence, bolstered by their world tour in various cities. They are nominated for Top Duo/Group, Top K-pop Album with two albums mentioned and Top Global K-pop Artist. 

TXT follows closely with three nominations for Top Global K-pop Artist, Top K-pop Touring Artist and Top K-pop Album.

The highly anticipated Top Global K-pop Artist category features a star-studded lineup, including Jungkook, Jimin, ENHYPEN, TXT and Stray Kids.

Meanwhile, Top K-pop Album honors some of the year’s biggest releases, such as Jungkook’s Golden, ATEEZ’s The World EP.Fim: Will, TXT’s The Name Chapter: FREEFALL and Stray Kids’ ROCK-STAR.

Jungkook leads this year’s nominations, with Stray Kids following closely with four. TXT claims three nominations, while Jimin and ENHYPEN secure two each. SEVENTEEN, ILLIT, Le Sserafim, and ATEEZ round out the list with one nomination each.

Winners for each category will be announced on Dec. 12.
