The streak feature is designed to encourage consistent interaction. Similar to Snapchat’s streaks, this feature activates when users exchange messages daily for a minimum of three consecutive days.

A fire emoji and streak count will appear next to the chat, serving as a visual reminder of your ongoing commitment.

According to the platform, the rules are simple yet strict: “Unlock a streak by sending messages to each other for three consecutive days. The streak will end if both of you didn’t message each other in the last 24 hours.”

This feature seems targeted at strengthening user engagement by tapping into the psychological pull of maintaining streaks.

For many, especially TikTok’s younger demographic, streaks are a badge of loyalty and consistency. It’s a fun way to stay connected with friends and keep conversations flowing, often accompanied by the exchange of funny, emotional or even controversial TikTok videos.

Many users have eagerly shared their ongoing TikTok streaks, with some boasting streaks surpassing 400 days.

One user humorously admitted, “I’m not even watching the TikToks anymore, I’m just sending one so the streak doesn’t end.”

Another user took a lighthearted approach by posting a meme about reviving streaks, captioned, “How it feels seeing your TikTok streak die and restoring it.”

Much like a daily responsibility right now, everyone is focused on keeping their streaks on TikTok alive, treating it as a daily challenge and a fun way to stay connected.
