Chances are, you belong to at least one Instagram Broadcast Channel. If you’re a fan, these exclusive spaces offer an opportunity to receive more intimate updates from your favorite idols.

However, there’s one catch: you can’t reply to their updates. This limitation might add an intriguing charm to the experience, enhancing the thrill of following along without the ability to engage directly (except for reactions).

But recently, the social media platform has rolled out a new feature again that changes the dynamic of these channels.

Creators now have the ability to enable replies within their Broadcast Channels, allowing subscribers to engage more interactively.

This update marks a significant shift in how Broadcast Channels function, transforming them from merely broadcasting information to facilitating a more engaging environment for fans.

The option to allow replies opens the door for meaningful interactions while still maintaining the core focus of the channels.

Subscribers can share their thoughts or comments in response to specific updates, but it’s worth noting that these replies will be visible only when users tap on a specific message.

This design ensures that the main channel remains clutter-free and focused on broadcasting while also creating space for topical discussions related to each announcement or post.

For creators wishing to activate this feature, the process is straightforward. They can navigate to the channel settings by tapping the channel name at the top of the page and accessing the channel controls. From there, they can enable the “Allow members to reply to messages” option, allowing subscribers to interact with specific content.

However, if the creators wish to limit responses, they can simply toggle the feature off, restricting visibility to only channel admins and moderators.

Fans can now enjoy not only the latest updates but also the thrill of joining a community discussion based on their favorite content.
