Bianca Bustamante stays resilient after Singapore Grand Prix setbacks
Filipino American racing prodigy Bianca Bustamante remained upbeat despite a challenging weekend at the 2024 Singapore Grand Prix.
The young racer competed at the iconic Marina Bay Street Circuit from Sept. 20 to 22, where she placed last in Race 1 and 14th out of 16 competitors in Race 2.
Though the results weren’t what she had hoped for because she promised to bounce back stronger after her tough race at Zandvoort, the first Filipina McLaren Development driver is choosing to focus on the positive aspects of her experience.

Her words highlighted the resilience and passion that have come to define her racing journey.
The Singapore GP, known for its challenging circuit, tested the limits of many drivers, and Bustamante’s performance reflected the high level of competition. However, the 19-year-old is determined to use the difficulties as motivation to push herself even further.
“Using all the lows to fuel my dreams even higher,” she added, underscoring her commitment to learning from every setback.
Bustamante also took a moment to thank her team, McLaren and ART Grand Prix, as well as her sponsors, for their unwavering support throughout the weekend.
“This track, this city. Amazing opportunity to be able to race here… Facing harder challenges and tougher competitions, can’t wait to share it with y’all!” she wrote, hinting at exciting races ahead.
While the Singapore GP may not have ended with a podium finish, Bustamante’s optimism and dedication to her craft continue to inspire her fans, as she sets her sights on the next racing challenge.
“But for now here’s the Singapore GP through my lenses!!!!” she concluded.
