Filipino American actor and comedian Rob Schneider, one of the public figures criticizing the 2024 Paris Olympics opening ceremony for disrespect to Christianity, has come under fire from some netizens.

In a post on X, the Deuce Bigalow actor announced he was boycotting the Olympics over the “Last Supper” drag performance, which he slammed for celebrating Satan.

“I am sorry to say to ALL the world’s GREATEST ATHLETES, I wish you ALL THE BEST, but I cannot watch an Olympics that disrespects Christianity and openly celebrates Satan.”

The comedian added, “I sincerely hope THESE @Olympics get the same amount of viewers as @cspan.”

His comments, however, sparked criticism from netizens, who pointed out that Schneider, himself, has appeared in drag for movie roles and even starred in “Little Nicky,” a movie about Satan’s son.

One user @georebekah, quipped, “Didn’t he do a whole movie in drag, where he was pretending to be a teenage girl?” referring to his role in “The Hot Chick.”

Another user, @themitsarin, commented, “Rob Schneider has an entire movie where he cross-dresses… Hollywood never had a problem stepping on their backs as a joke but now…”

Content creator Mike Dro even shared photos of Schneider dressed in drag during TV appearances and for movie roles.

The controversial parody

During a segment of the opening ceremony, DJ Barbara Butch performed with models and drag queens — an act that some said was a resemblance of Leonardo da Vinci’s “The Last Supper.”

The scene didn’t sit well with many viewers, including Schneider, who recently converted to Catholicism. His Filipino roots could have added another layer to his beliefs, given that majority of Filipinos are Catholic.

Schneider is also gearing up for an upcoming movie, “Shroud of Turin,” which can be seen as a testament to his dedication to the Catholic faith.

In another tweet, Schneider shared a photo from the performance captioning, “Guys with their genitalia hanging out in front of children?! Drag Queens?! I wasn’t sure if I was watching the @Olympics or if I was watching a school board meeting…”

In a press conference on Sunday, the Olympics organizers issued an apology and clarified that the scene was meant to be seen as a pagan feast. The artistic director vehemently denied it drew inspiration from the 15th-century masterpiece.
