Miss Charm 2024 candidates face US visa hurdles, pageant postponed
While fans are actively voting for Miss Charm Philippines 2024 Kayla Carter on the official pageant’s poll for a chance to make it into the top five, the Miss Charm International organization has announced the postponement of the highly anticipated beauty contest – again.
In a recent statement posted on their social media channels, the organization revealed that the Miss Charm 2024 final competition has been delayed due to visa issues experienced by several delegates.
The pageant, slated to be staged in the United States, will now be rescheduled.
The announcement stated, “After a meeting with all National Directors, we regret to inform you that the final event of the Miss Charm competition, originally scheduled to take place in the United States, will be postponed. This decision has not been made lightly but is necessary due to unforeseen challenges related to obtaining visas for many of our contestants.”

The statement continued, “The time required to secure these visas is insufficient, and we believe it would be unfair to proceed without all participants who have dedicated significant time and effort preparing for this prestigious event. We understand the disappointment this may cause and sincerely apologize for any inconvenience.”
Because of the visa issues, the organization emphasized that their priority is to ensure all contestants have the opportunity to compete on a level playing field.
The organization has assured that the voting process for an automatic advancement to three of the pageant’s cuts will remain unaffected during this period. They are currently working on rescheduling the event and will announce further details about the new date and venue as soon as possible.
The Miss Charm 2024 pageant was initially set to run from Aug. 12 to 24 in Los Angeles. It was also noted that former Miss Universe Philippines finalist from Northern California, Kayla Carter, was the top pick for the title vacated by then Miss Charm Philippines and now Miss World Philippines 2024, Krishnah Gravidez. This preference was not only due to Carter’s overall performance but also because she did not need to obtain a US visa.
Reigning Miss Charm, Luma Russo of Brazil, is expected to crown her successor at the event.
