Eminem’s new album featuring Fil-Am rapper Ez Mil soars to No. 1
It seems renowned global rapper and producer Eminem has infused his latest album, “The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce),” with a touch of Filipino charm.
Featuring Filipino American rapper Ez Mil, the album has surged to the top of the Billboard 200, ending Taylor Swift’s impressive 12-week reign with “The Tortured Poets Department,” which has now dropped to No. 4.
One of the album’s highlights is the collaboration with Ez Mil on the track “Head Honcho.” Fans are particularly excited about Ez Mil’s contribution, which includes a substantial portion of his verses in Filipino.
The inclusion of the Pinoy rapper in Eminem’s album was another moment of pride for the Filipino community, particularly as Mata ni Louie described on Instagram, with Ez Mil surprising netizens by rapping in Filipino.

His verse features lines such as: “Kwarenta-singko na kalibre o nuwebe, ‘kaw na bahala. / Sa dinami-rami mong mali, utak mo lang may tama. / Sa kitid mo mag-isip, pare, ‘la ka man lang na banat. / Naglalim-laliman, ang sarap mong ilublob sa dagat. / ‘Di kailangang magpatunay sa sinuman na nakikinig. / ‘Di masasalag ng sintido o ng iyong bibig.”
This track marks their second collaboration, following their initial joint effort on the track “Realest,” which also showcased Ez Mil’s lyrical prowess alongside the Grammy Award-winning rapper.
According to Hypebeast, “The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce)” debuted with 281,000 equivalent album units, making it the year’s biggest sales week for a rap album.
The album’s performance includes 164,500 streaming equivalent album units (220.08 million on-demand streams), 114,000 pure album sales and 2,500 track equivalent album units.
It also stands as the second-largest sales week for a digital album this year, trailing behind Swift’s release.
Hot off the heels of his recent success, Ez Mil will host a hip-hop night after-party at the grand opening of C3 Seafood and Bar – Spring Mountain. Scheduled for Friday, July 26, from 10:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. PDT, the event promises an unforgettable evening with “sick beats and killer rhymes,” exclusive interactions, and a live performance of “Head Honcho.”
