What the crown means for Fil-Am Miss Philippines Tourism Bianca Tapia

The crossover queens from Miss Universe Philippines 2024 have been excelling in their respective pageants, demonstrating that they were never denied, only redirected.

After the successful placements of her batchmates in various beauty contests this year, former Miss Universe Philippines 2024 candidate from the Filipino community of Hawai’i, Bianca Tapia, has been crowned as the newest Miss Philippines Tourism.

This semi-finalist from MUPH was chosen as the Philippines’ representative to the Miss Tourism International competition after winning one of the crowns at this year’s Miss World Philippines grand coronation night on July 19, where the newly relinquished Miss Charm Philippines title holder Krishnah Gravidez won the top crown.

In an Instagram post, the Filipino American beauty queen expressed how all her efforts over the past few months have been worthwhile.

“Every ounce of blood, sweat, and tears has been worth it,” Bianca Tapia shared. “Amplifying my voice to change even ONE life means everything to me.”

She continued, “Thank you to the [Miss World Philippines] organization for providing a platform where we can make history and drive change.” The Tanaueños USA Youth Director’s advocacy revolves around empowering people with disabilities as someone who has hearing impairment.

“I extend my deepest gratitude to my family, friends, and supporters for their unwavering support every step of the way. Your belief in me fuels my passion and purpose,” she added.

Tapia’s advocacy has also been recognized by the organization as one of the top 10 finalists for the “Beauty with a Purpose” segment of the competition.

The Batangas representative wore a sky-blue serpentine gown with structured off-shoulder sleeves by renowned Filipino designer Ehrran Montoya, perfectly “embodying the allure of a ‘Dalagang Filipina’ with a modern twist.”

Her fellow Miss Universe Philippines candidate Dia Mate also won the Reina Hispanoamericana crown during the pageant’s coronation. Miss Multinational Philippines 2024 went to Pangasinan’s Nikhisah Buenafe, and Face of Beauty Philippines 2024 went to Bicol Region and Binibining Pilipinas finalist Jeanne Isabelle Bilasano.

Meanwhile, Miss World First Princess is Tarlac’s Jasmine Omay, and Second Princess is Pampanga’s Sophia Bianca Santos.
