X, formerly Twitter, now allows you to search through your bookmarks
At some point, we’ve all come across a post that we’ve bookmarked for later. However, as we scroll through X (formerly Twitter), we often bookmark so many posts that it can be hard to find those older ones buried deep in the feed.
For a long time, many X users have been requesting a way to search through their bookmarks to easily locate saved posts. The good news is that this feature has finally been introduced.
Users can now search for bookmarks on X, but there’s a catch – the feature is currently available only on the web and iOS platforms.
The introduction of this functionality comes nearly a year after it was first announced in December last year. The search option enables users to refind posts they’ve marked within their bookmarks list, providing a much-needed organizational tool for those who rely on bookmarks to save important or interesting content.
Since the bookmark feature’s inception, X has been working to put more focus on this as a means to help boost engagement on the platform.
Earlier this year, the company added bookmark counts to the post details view. This addition provides more context on how users are interacting with posts, giving content creators insights into the popularity and reach of their tweets.
Moreover, X has also started counting bookmarks as “quiet likes.” This means that each bookmark gives a post an extra algorithmic boost, potentially increasing its visibility on the platform. By enhancing the functionality and significance of bookmarks, X aims to encourage more users to engage with content in a meaningful way.
The new search feature is a welcome update for X users who have been struggling to manage their growing list of bookmarked posts.
While Android users will have to wait a bit longer, the current rollout on web and iOS is a significant stride towards improving user experience and engagement on the platform.
