“The boy may be yours, but the pleasure was all mine, [Ariana Grande],” wrote American actor Penn Badgley, expressing his admiration for the pop star and “Yes, and?” hitmaker, Ariana Grande.

The 37-year-old actor recently expressed his gratitude to the singer after starring in her latest music video, “The Boy is Mine.” He thanked the two-time Grammy winner for the opportunity to join her and music icons Brandy and Monica who were news anchors for their cameo appearance in the music video.

The song is from her new album “Eternal Sunshine,” which was released in March. It is a reinterpretation of Brandy and Monica’s 1998 hit with the same title which she had “always” harbored an interest in giving a new twist.

Badgley shared some behind-the-scenes moments on social media, including a photo with Grande and music video director Christian Breslauer.

In the more than six-minute video, Grande’s character is enamored with Badgley’s character, Mayor Max Starling, reminiscent of Batman’s Gotham City.

“Thank you for inviting me into your orbit for a moment & @christhedirector for building a little world to play in for a day,” Badgley wrote. “Hey ma, I’m in a music video! And in the presence of @brandy and @monicadenise?? Honored to be alongside these icons.”

On the flip side, the “Breakfree” songstress also shared more behind-the-scenes photos from the shoot. Her post featured additional images of her working and candid moments of her chatting with the director.

In one photo, Grande and Badgley can be seen attentively listening to Breslauer as he explains his vision for the video. Grande captioned her post, “。˚❀ the boy is mine ·ꕤ.゚🐈‍⬛.”

Grande also treated her fans to more exclusive clips from the music video. The storyline playfully nods to classic romance tropes, following Grande as she concocts a magical love potion with the intent of charming Badgley’s character into falling head over heels for her.
