LinkedIn is the new hottest dating site, survey shows
Love blooms in unexpected places – including LinkedIn, where professionals and job seekers network.
A recent DatingNews.com survey shows a significant percentage of singles looking for love rely on LinkedIn and still go for the mystery of blind dates and spontaneity.
The professional networking site redefines the dating game as revealed by the survey, shedding light on this surprising trend. Typically a hub for job seekers, the site is stealthily rising as a favorite place to meet potential dates.
DatingNews.com surveyed 505 consumers aged 20 to 40 across the US who are currently dating. This survey aims to unveil current dating methods — from blind dates to networking sites and in-person meet-ups.
According to the survey, 61 percent of singles aged 35-40 are transforming professional interactions into romantic connections. With 52 percent of the respondents aged 20 to 40 using the site for more than just networking, the results prove how LinkedIn dating is becoming the hottest new trend.
LinkedIn dating
While the platform isn’t officially branded as a dating site, the platform has witnessed an uptick in flirtatious engagements. Originally designed as a career hub, it has now seen a romantic subplot.
The data underscores some patterns — singles from San Antonio take the lead with 71 percent using LinkedIn to score dates, substantially higher than other areas.
While the real intent of LinkedIn users evolves, it also crosses the line between work and pleasure. “Of course, LinkedIn, along with Facebook and Instagram, aren’t designed as dating apps,” the website cautions.
Respondents who still use traditional dating sites
Interestingly, 48 percent are still drawn to the spontaneity of blind dates while 45 percent of the respondents still prefer to use dating apps like Tinder and Match.
Young adults aged 20 to 25 are finding romantic partners in social scenes like clubs and bars but with a significant drop as they reach their 30s.

The unexpected matchmakers
Love is everywhere — even in the most unconventional platforms like fitness apps (33%) and language learning apps such as Duolingo — where 1 in 5 respondents found connections through this platform.
Meanwhile, traditional dating methods are far from extinct with 44 percent of Gen Zs still open to blind dates, which confirms that people still trust their friends and family members as matchmakers.
As LinkedIn turns into a bridge connecting hearts, who knows, your next career move might just be your next love story.
