‘The Last of Us’ dominates critics Super Awards with 7 wins
LOS ANGELES — “Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning Part One,” “Godzilla Minus One,” “Poor Things” and “Talk to Me” each collected two honors today as winners were announced for the fourth annual Critics Choice Super Awards, while “The Last of Us” swept all seven awards for which it was nominated in the TV categories.
“The Last of Us” collected wins for best superhero series, limited series or made-for-TV movie, and for best horror series, limited series or made-for-TV movie. It also earned acting awards for Pedro Pascal, Bella Ramsey and Melanie Lynskey.
The Critics Choice Super Awards honor “the most popular, fan-obsessed genres across both television and movies, including Superhero, Science Fiction/Fantasy, Horror, and Action,” according to the Critics Choice Association. The winners will be announced April 4.
Tom Cruise and Rebecca Ferguson were named winners of best actor and actress in an action movie for “Mission Impossible.” “Godzilla Minus One” was named best science fiction/fantasy movie, and while Godzilla was named best villain in a movie.
Oscar winner Emma Stone was named best actress in a science fiction/fantasy movie for “Poor Things,” and her co-star, Mark Ruffalo, was named best actor.
