Filipinos in the United States have long been advocates of various causes, particularly within the nursing profession, leading to recognition from various award-giving bodies.

One recent example is Janina Galangga, a Filipino nurse who received the prestigious Florence Nightingale Award in September of last year, an international honor celebrating exceptional contributions to the profession.

Joining this esteemed roster is Dr. Dely Po Go, a Filipino American nurse and advocate for the Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) community.
