The Filipino community in Los Angeles showed unwavering support for Fil-Am talent by organizing a special screening for actress Liza Soberano’s Hollywood film debut in “Lisa Frankenstein.”

Meanwhile, in an interview with Pacific Rim Video Press, the Filipino American artist opened up about her feelings regarding her Hollywood journey, admitting to feeling overwhelmed by the support she received.

“I am very happy to know that I have a Filipino community behind me, supporting me, championing Filipino representation in mainstream media,” she said.

The “Forevermore” star confessed that while she always dreamed of a Hollywood career, the reality of premieres and special screenings still feels surreal to her, adding “It honestly doesn’t feel real to me.”

During the screening, the audience erupted in laughter and cheers, showing their appreciation for Soberano’s portrayal of the character “Taffy.”

However, the acclaim doesn’t stop there; various film reviews posted online since the premiere have appreciated and praised the “Alone/Together” lead for bringing her role to life.

Director Zelda Williams, making her feature directorial debut, described the event organized by FACE as both “wonderful” yet “incredibly daunting,” all while emphasizing her hope for Soberano to receive the respect and recognition she deserves in Hollywood.
