For fans of Filipino-American singer-songwriter H.E.R., her love for basketball, particularly her support for her hometown squad, Golden State Warriors (GSW), is no secret.
Yet, this time, she took a break from being a GSW fan for a moment as she slammed into the heart of the Brooklyn Nets’ domain.
In a seamless collision of music and sports, the Grammy Award-winning performer graced the hardwood at Barclays Center for the premiere episode of “Shoot Your Shot,” a brand-new content series launched by the Brooklyn Nets, and engaged in a spirited basketball match with NBA star Mikal Bridges.
The Brooklyn Nets’ official social media account aptly captured the essence of this unexpected crossover, posting, “The crossover you never knew you needed” alongside a video clip.

The episode debuts on YouTube with a game of “N.E.T.S.,” which is a playful adaptation of the classic H-O-R-S-E shooting game.
Fans of both H.E.R. and Bridges were treated to a candid conversation between the two talents, delving into the shared love for the game.
H.E.R., whose real name is Gabriella Sarmiento Wilson, took the opportunity to express her admiration for Bridges, playfully dubbing him her favorite player in the league.
“I hate to say it but, Mikal is my favorite player in the league,” she shared. “I’ve been studying your shot, so to see it in person and to be playing a game of course, I’m very blown away and you could teach me a few things.”
In response, Bridges simply said, “Appreciate that.”
