Fil-Am pianist Victor Asuncion to play Rachmaninoff’s piece in concert
In celebration of the 150th Anniversary of Birth of Russian-American composer Rachmaninoff, established Filipino-American pianist, Victor Santiago Asuncion, is headlining a night of musical brilliance and virtuosity at the Ayala Museum on Dec. 9.
Hailed by The Washington Post for his “poised and imaginative playing,” Asuncion is set to take center stage to perform Rachmaninoff’s iconic Concerto No. 3, a piece known for its breathtaking complexity and emotional depth.

Asuncion, whose artistry has graced concert halls across the globe, is no stranger to accolades. Having performed in multiple countries like Brazil, Canada, Ecuador, France, and the US, his reputation as both a recitalist and concerto soloist precedes him.
In addition to Concerto No. 3, the Manila Symphony Orchestra will enchant the audience with Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 1, “Winter Daydreams.”
This composition will further elevate the evening, immersing the audience into the world of Tchaikovsky’s musical storytelling.
The concert is a highlight of the Manila Symphony Orchestra’s 2023-2024 Concert Series: “In Pursuit of Excellence,” a testament to the orchestra’s commitment to delivering exceptional musical experiences to its audience.
