Los Angeles – Millikin University’s Tabor School of Business professor Dr. Mark Munoz has received the Academy of Global Business Advancement (AGBA) Lifetime Achievement Award in Global Business.

Munoz said he was honored to receive the award acknowledging his accomplishments in a field “close to my heart and one I am passionate about—international business.” The AGBA helps scholars at business schools in emerging countries to connect with the Western world.

“I am delighted to have the opportunity to share this honor with the administration, faculty, students, and alumni of Millikin University as well as the Decatur (Illinois) community—who have all helped and supported me in many of my endeavors over the years,” said Munoz whose recognition was featured on the university website.

The academy will formally present the award at the 20th AGBA Global Conference in Bangkok, Thailand, July 8 to 10 next year. At this conference, Munoz will deliver a keynote speech about his 2023 book, titled “Digital Entrepreneurship and the Global Economy.”

AGBA founder, president, and CEO Dr. Zafar U. Ahmed praised Munoz for his excellent work as an entrepreneur, educator, scholar, and author, and his significant contributions to global business practice.

Earlier this year, Munoz was a runner-up for the Male Entrepreneurial Leader of the Year Award at the Triple E recognition event hosted by the Accreditation Council for Entrepreneurial & Engaged Universities. He came second based on the judges’ rating and won first place in People’s Choice voting.

Munoz said the digital economy is expected to contribute about $60 trillion in revenue by 2025. “Its entrepreneurial practice includes artificial intelligence, blockchain, internet of things, and augmented reality,” he said. “In my presentation, I will highlight the value proposition of the practice of digital entrepreneurship, the challenges as well as pathways to success.”
