The visionary minds behind the beloved Filipino-Vietnamese food truck Fil N’ Viet have reemerged with an enticing new venture.

Previously bidding farewell to their iconic food truck, Kevin Truong and Rosie Mina-Truong make a triumphant return with East Meets Wings.

This exciting endeavor marks the inaugural pop-up in Austin’s new restaurant incubator, Playground ATX, located at 5001 Airport Boulevard in the North Loop neighborhood. It’s set to open on Nov. 15.

Under the banner of East Meets Wings, co-owners and co-chefs Kevin and Rosie will soon tantalize taste buds with an array of chicken wings infused with pan-Asian flavors.

From the Indonesian ayam goreng and the Indian butter masala to the Thai tamarind Thai basil and Sichuan mala, each dish promises a delectable experience. Familiar favorites from Fil N’ Viet, such as the Filipino sinigang chicken wings and Vietnamese VFC chicken wings, will also grace the menu.

Accompanying the wings are a fried chicken sandwich, boneless chicken thighs, and vegetarian crispy rice cakes, all available in a variety of flavors. Desserts like halo-halo and soft serve sundaes complete the menu.

Playground ATX not only nurtures culinary concepts but also serves as a hub for community enrichment. Beyond the rotating restaurants, Playground ATX will also host a variety of food and drink events, pop-ups, collaborative chef dinners, and fundraisers for nonprofits. The space operates under the belief that everyone has a great restaurant idea, and Playground ATX aims to help bring those ideas to life.
