PH clinches silver at 2023 World Beach Ultimate Championships
The 2023 World Beach Ultimate Championships have just ended, with Team Philippines demonstrating their prowess and determination on the global stage, finishing their fight for gold with impressive results in multiple divisions.
The Ultimate Grand Master open team narrowly missed the gold in a thrilling championship match against Team USA.
Despite a 12-9 score in favor of the US, the Philippine team displayed remarkable skill and resilience, earning a well-deserved silver medal. Their performance resonated with fans and the international Ultimate community, highlighting their unwavering dedication and sportsmanship.
“Our Pilipinas Ultimate Grand Master Open team narrowly missed the Gold, but they demonstrated that we remain a strong presence on the beach ultimate scene!,” said the team on Instagram.

Furthermore, in the open division, the Philippines secured a commendable 5th place as they edged out France with a 13-11 score. This demonstrated their skill and competitive spirit against competitors from 14 different countries.

Altering the course of the game, the master mixed division also secured the 5th position, armed with their adaptability and collaborative spirit by defeating Singapore with a score of 13-4. The USA also claimed the gold medal in this category, overcoming Canada with a score of 13-9.

Meanwhile, the women’s division saw Team Philippines secure an impressive 4th place, a chance at the podium missed but still a strong 8-11 score win against Spain. Their relentless battles and tenacious spirit reflected the increasing prominence of Filipino women in Ultimate Frisbee and other fields of sports.

The sporting event took place in Huntington Beach, California from Nov. 1 to 5, with over 700 players representing 50 teams from 15 different countries, all competing for the title of the world’s finest beach Ultimate teams.
