Olivia Rodrigo to drop 4 ‘secret’ songs exclusively on vinyl
If we were to paint the poster child of modern teen angst, a young soul with oversized headphones on, phone glued to their hand, and Olivia Rodrigo’s name lighting up the screen would be the star of our canvas. Their musical experience would revolve around streaming platforms, with every cathartic song a tap (or swipe) away.
Now, juxtapose this image with that of the vintage vinyl experience, in which a slower and more deliberate form of music consumption would take center stage. It’s a stark contrast to the streaming culture today’s teenagers seem to embrace—a product of a bygone era encapsulated in nostalgia.
But what would happen if these two worlds collided? Well, Rodrigo—a.k.a. Gen Z’s emotional ghost writer and angst soundtrack provider—is about to show us.
Meet Olivia Rodrigo’s “Guts: The Secret Tracks”
In an Instagram post, the 20-year-old musician announced the release of a limited edition vinyl of her sophomore album “Guts.” It includes four “secret” songs: “Obsessed,” “Scared of My Guitar,” “Stranger,” and “Girl I’ve Always Been.”

While all four tracks have already been released as “hidden tracks” within each of her commercially available “G,” “U,” “T,” and “S” vinyls, indie records shop Record Day Store US—in collaboration with Third Man Pressing—has decided to compile them into a standalone project.
The songs were pressed on limited edition opaque deep purple vinyl, with a butterfly etched on it. A total of 7,500 records are set to hit the shelves on Nov. 24 as part of the store’s Black Friday exclusives.
“I’m a big [Third Man Records] fan, and I’m so stoked to have my songs on their vinyl,” reads Rodrigo’s Instagram post.
Is it available for pre-order?
Unfortunately, it’s not—but for good reason. “Our mission is to drive traffic to the stores and these limited edition titles are first-come, first-serve,” says the indie records store.
