Hawaii-based Pinay beauty queen crowned Mrs. Universe 2023
Talk about being a pageant powerhouse contender anywhere in the universe: Another Filipina beauty queen has seized a crown.
In a night filled with grace, wit, and beauty, Filipina Meranie Gadiana Rahman, representing Hawaii, achieved a crowning moment of her own as she was named the 46th Mrs. Universe during the coronation night at the Newport Performing Arts Theater on Oct. 8, Sunday.
Rahman’s path to the crown was defined by her commitment to self-improvement, nurtured during her years as a pageant veteran, and her dedication to championing social causes through her nonprofit, the “You Are Loved Foundation.”
The foundation was established in response to her personal experience with postpartum depression. In August 2020, the Pinay beauty queen shared her story, aiming to raise awareness about the condition’s reality and the availability of treatment.
“I strongly believe that by setting up goals and having a positive attitude one can come out of postpartum depression and can become empowered to empower others,” she wrote.
On Instagram, Meranie Gadiana Rahman shared some of her pre-coronation night looks and the proud moments of her crowning.
