3 Filipinas among 4 dead in Santa Maria, Calif. vehicular crash

SANTA MARIA, California – Four people, including three Filipino women, died in a two-vehicle collision in a local intersection last Friday, July 6.
The crash occurred at about 11:20 p.m. a Toyota Tundra and a Cadillac Escalade collided in the intersection of Stowell and Blosser roads, according to a report by KSBY.

Three people in a Cadillac died at the scene: Necitas Santa Maria of Seattle, Leonicelle Abaigar of Texas, and her 13-year-old daughter, Andrea.The driver of the Cadillac, was reportedly taken to a local hospital but did not suffer serious injuries.
The driver of the Tundra pickup, 27-year-old Jesse Angel Plata, Jr. of Arroyo Grande, died a few hours later at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital.
Police say an officer spotted Plata driving the Tundra recklessly just prior to the crash. Traffic investigators are asking anyone who may have seen the collision to contact the Santa Maria Police Department at (805) 928-3781, ext. 2297.
