‘The Young and the Restless’ star Billy Miller dies at 43
In a heartbreaking loss, Emmy Award-winning actor Billy Miller, renowned for his performances in various soap operas, passed away at the age of 43 on Sept. 15, 2023, Friday. His manager confirmed that he was grappling with manic depression at the time of his passing.
Born on Sept. 17, 1979, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Miller faced health challenges throughout his life, notably tarsal coalition, a condition affecting ankle cartilage. Despite these obstacles, he pursued a career in entertainment, earning a film degree from the University of Texas, Austin and moving to Los Angeles.
Miller initially worked in an entertainment management company’s mailroom but transitioned to modeling, landing roles in commercials for Electronic Arts’ The Sims, JCPenney, and Pizza Hut.

His acting career included a memorable role as Richie Novak in “All My Children.” However, his breakthrough came with the character Billy Abbott in “The Young and the Restless,” where he won three Daytime Emmy Awards.
Afterward, Miller’s career thrived with roles in “General Hospital,” “Suits,” “Ray Donovan,” and “NCIS.” He also ventured into the restaurant business in Los Angeles.
Miller leaves behind his mother Patricia, sister Megan, brother-in-law Ronnie, nephew Grayson, and niece Charley. His colleagues and friends remember him for his infectious charm and lasting impact.
