After completing his mandatory military service and while waiting for the group’s most awaited comeback this year, BTS member Jin is proving he hasn’t missed a beat, returning with a powerful statement in both music and media.
Following his June 2024 discharge, the singer has launched straight into a whirlwind of activity, from carrying the Olympic torch for the Paris 2024 Games to starring in the new online variety show “Run Jin.” He also made a guest appearance on Netflix’s comedy-variety series “Screwballs.”
But it’s his music that’s making the loudest noise. Jin’s latest single “Don’t Say You Love Me,” the lead track from his second solo EP “Echo,” has officially entered the US Billboard Hot 100 chart at No. 90, Billboard announced on May 28.

This marks the third time Jin has landed on the prestigious chart as a soloist, following 2022’s “The Astronaut” at No. 51 and 2024’s “Running Wild” at No. 53.
“Don’t Say You Love Me” delves into the emotional complexities of a fading relationship, portraying a couple’s struggle to part ways despite knowing the love has frayed. Korea JoongAng Daily describes it as a reflection on “the ironic complexities of a crumbling relationship.”
Further proving its global appeal, the song climbed to No. 1 on Spotify’s Daily Top Songs Global chart on May 25, just days after debuting at No. 9. The same song also reached No. 58 on the UK’s Official Singles Chart Top 100.
With “Echo’s” strong debut on the Billboard 200 and Jin’s ever-growing solo portfolio, the BTS vocalist has firmly positioned himself as a global star in his own right: booked, busy and undoubtedly thriving in his post-military chapter while waiting for the full-blown group’s comeback.
