In the vibrant community of Long Beach, California, a vegan bakery is creating waves of culinary delight and cultural nostalgia. San & Wolves Bakeshop, owned and founded by Kym Estrada, is not your typical bakery; it’s a unique fusion of Filipino flavors, vegan goodness, and a commitment to quality that has captured the hearts of vegans and non-vegans alike.

Originally a weekly pop-up, San & Wolves Bakeshop is set to open its first brick-and-mortar location in Belmont Heights in early 2024, bringing even more of their beloved vegan Filipino flavors to the local community.

In 2017, Estrada’s journey began in Brooklyn, New York, where she set out to bridge her Filipino heritage with her passion for veganism. Today, San & Wolves calls Long Beach, California, home, seamlessly blending tradition and innovation. What sets this bakery apart is its unique ability to transport people back to their roots through the art of vegan baking.

As Kym passionately puts it, “When I created San & Wolves, it was to give people who are vegan and Filipino a sense of nostalgia, and then they’ll be like, ‘Oh my God, this reminds me of home.’”

San & Wolves offers a wide range of vegan Filipino baked goods, meticulously capturing the essence of beloved Filipino treats without using animal-derived ingredients. From iconic ube buns and buko pop-tarts, cornbread bibingka and pandan cinnamon rolls, to delightful ube crumb cups, every bite is a journey through Filipino culture.

The bakery is committed to quality and sustainability, offering soy-free, nut-free, and palm oil-free products, all made with organic sweeteners. Their dedication to crafting most ingredients from scratch, including their coconut oil-based “butter” and dairy-free sweetened condensed milk, shines through in every pastry they create.

As we eagerly await the grand opening of San & Wolves’ brick-and-mortar establishment, you can stay updated on their pop-up schedule and preorder drops on their website.

San & Wolves’ first physical store will be located at Belmont Heights, Long Beach, at 3900 4th Street.
