New character unlocked: Sandara Park in Filipiniana
Despite flying back to South Korea in 2007, Sandara Park has never ceased to show her love for the Philippines, her home during her teenage years as a young actress and singer. One moment, we see her randomly posting about her Filipino sisig and beer cravings and the next one, we witness her effortlessly flexing her Filipino fluency.
This time, it’s all about the ’fit. In a recent Instagram post by the K-pop star, Park is seen wearing an elegant Filipiniana top paired with a silky maxi skirt. She’s posing on a staircase together with other Korean entertainment idols—Jinu from Winner, rapper DinDin, and NU’EST’s Aron and JR—and all of them are dressed in barong Tagalog, too. What can we say? It’s one for the (look)books.

The Korean stars recently traveled to Pampanga as part of their shooting for the variety show “Idol Truck Project,” a collaboration between SBS Medianet and KOFCA. The series follows celebrities giving spotlight on small and medium-sized businesses.
In June, the 38-year-old even posted pictures of her in two local restaurants with the caption: “Long time no see my friend.” Aside from the filming, the superstar was also in the country to perform at a branded concert and even a surprise show.
