A Filipino frozen dessert will be available from vending machines at different SkyTrain stations across Metro Vancouver and the SeaBus terminal at Lonsdale Quay.

Silvanas, a Filipino frozen dessert sandwich consisting of two cashew-meringue wafers filled with buttercream and dusted with nut- and cookie-flavored crumbs, will be made available by Filipino-owned Khaykery Bakery in downtown Vancouver, which is best known for the dessert.

Khaykery opened in September 2019 and serves cakes, cupcakes, gelato and dessert drinks, but frozen silvanas are its main product. It’s located at 1610 Robson St, Unit 108, Vancouver, British Columbia.

They will become fully operational at these locations in the coming weeks and will accept credit and debit card payments. It’s a one-year Translink Skytrain pilot project.

Later this summer, the machines at Joyce–Collingwood, Metrotown, Edmonds, Burquitlam and Moody Centre stations start dispensing food and beverage items.
