A Filipino food truck will open an eatery in Olmsted Falls, joining a recently opened 60-seat restaurant in Independence, both offering Filipino standbys like tocino, lumpia and barbecued chicken.

Parilya, Cleveland’s first and only Filipino food truck, is setting up a brick-and-mortar storefront in Olmsted Falls late this summer, at the corner of Bagley and Columbia streets.

Roger San Juan’s Parilya food truck will continue while the casual 20-seat restaurant will also serve as the base for Parilya’s catering operation. Aside from savory Filipino dishes, the eatery will have desserts like candied nuts, ube cheesecake and cookies.

Meanwhile, in Independence, Ohio, Tita Flora’s 60-seat, full service Filipino restaurant recently opened at 6531 Brecksville Road.

Tita Flora’s serves crispy vegetable or pork lumpia, adobo, sizzling sisig, pancit and all-day longsilog breakfasts.

Owner Flora Grk has been in the restaurant for 25 years and is one of the very few sources of Filipino cuisine in the Cleveland area.
