A Filipino American man arrested for a hit-and-run that caused serious injury to a moped rider was extradited from Guam to Maui, Hawaii and ordered to post an increased bail of $250,000.
Jermaine Mudong, 38, is back in custody after fleeing to Guam in May and is considered a flight risk, according to Deputy Prosecutor Ryan Anderson-Teshima.

Mudong is accused of ramming into Jillian Croce, 32, who was on a moped on Honoapiilani Highway in Waikapu, Maui, on May 16. He refused to stop despite screams from witnesses to do so.
A witness called 911, ran to his car and chased the driver for nearly 13 miles until police arrived. Croce was flown to Oahu in critical condition.
Mudong was arrested and then released on $100,000 bail. In a matter of days, he flew to Guam, where investigators found and extradited him back to Maui. Judge Michelle Drewyer increased Mudong’s bail to $250,000.
