Changes to the Bessie Carmichael School’s Filipino language and culture program have surprised many families and community advocates.

Bessie Carmichael School PreK-8 Filipino Education Center administrators have decided to merge the 4th and 5th grade Filipino language classes in the 2023-24 school year due to financial difficulties and declining enrollment, reported the San Francisco Examiner.
