The Future of Desserts: Artificial Intelligence Creates Shake Shack’s Vegan Shakes and Ice Cream

/ 08:06 AM May 05, 2023

Thanks to futuristic technology, Shake Shack was able to concoct a variety of vegan desserts. It is an excellent solution to the increasing demand for plant-based food options.

Using AI, the fast-food giant has created unique textures and flavors that are just out of this world. This advancement is a game-changer in the food scene as it not only caters to the vegan population but also those aiming to lessen their carbon footprints.

Starting today, May 5, these innovative treats will be available in all US stores. This development shows the fast food chain’s commitment to offering delicious and diverse options for customers.

The fast food giant partnered with NotCo and their AI technology, “Giuseppe.” This partnership paved the way for a modern era of plant-based options that aims to satisfy even the most sensitive of palates.

Shake Shack started working with NotCo last year, using their AI-generated dairy-free milk, the NoMilk. They used it in making their frozen custard and chocolate milkshake.

“Giuseppe,” the Ai system, can analyze food products at a specific molecular level. It can duplicate textures and flavors using plant-based ingredients only.

NotCo’s website stated that Giuseppe searches for pairings in aspects like texture, nutrition, flavor, and functionality. The AI’s ability to make distinct recipes proves AI’s potential to revolutionize the food scene, particularly in plant-based alternatives.

Expanding Vegan Options Nationwide

After the success of their AI-generated desserts, Shake Shack has decided to offer these treats to all customers across the US. Shake Shack’s CEO Jay Livingston shared his excitement about the new product rollout.

He said, “These impactful additions to our core menu give our guests more options, and we can’t wait to roll them out for Shack fans across the country.”

In addition, the fast food giant is also working to develop a Veggie Shack Burger since 2018. The New York sites will soon offer a veggie burger made with sweet potatoes, carrots, mushrooms, quinoa, and farro.

The burger’s toppings will be American cheese, crispy onions, pickles, and Shake Shack sauce. This new veggie addition will compliment their meatless Shroom burger, though the latter is not vegan due to its cheesy ingredients.

Embracing Innovation and High-Quality Ingredients

The fast food giant’s non-stop efforts to broaden its vegan meals demonstrate its commitment to delivering elevated and premium versions of classic fast-food favorites.

In 2021, they offered the Vegan Crispy Shallot Burger only in the UK for a limited time. The burger has a mushroom-based patty with beef-marinated fried shallots, smoky vegan cheddar cheese, dijonnaise sauce, and lettuce.

Livingston also noted the company’s mission saying, “Since we started Shake Shack in 2004, our mission has been to serve up elevated versions of the classics that not only taste great but are crafted with premium ingredients.”

By incorporating artificial intelligence in creating its plant-based options, Shake Shack is a pioneer in the food business, catering to its customers’ changing preferences while still keeping its commitment to taste and quality.
