A free “flagship program that connects internationally acclaimed Filipino artists with fellow artists in the diaspora” is being offered by the Philippine National Commission for Culture and the Arts.

The Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco announced that the Sentro Rizal Virtual Masterclass series features the following topics and artists:

  • Philippine Classical Music with Dr. Raul M. Sunico, pianist

Target and expected audience/participants: Music enthusiasts, instrumentalists, and music history teachers and students

  • Philippine Choral Music Singing with the Philippine Madrigal Singers

Target and expected audience/participants: Members of a choir/choral group, music teachers, and music enthusiasts (with prior experience on choral singing)

  • Philippine Folk Dance with the Bayanihan National Folk Dance Company 

Target and expected audience/participants: Philippine folk dancers, dance teachers, and dance students

Lectures for the masterclass were pre-recorded, but the featured artists will be joining the participants live during the question-and-answer portion.

A minimum of 15 participants will be required for one masterclass. A common date and time for a planned masterclass session may also be discussed with the Consulate and the NCCA.

Interested groups who can muster at least 15 participants for one of the masterclasses, are requested to send the Consulate an email at [email protected] on or before 29 March 2023. The said email should contain the group’s preferred masterclass, and their proposed date and time (in Pacific Time) for the masterclass.
