Fans Go Wild for Keanu Reeves as He Promotes ‘John Wick: Chapter 4’ in NYC

Keanu Reeves went boots on the ground promoting “John Wick: Chapter 4” in New York City. In response, fans eagerly welcomed the man on the street.

Some of them approached to see the star of John Wick in person. Others snapped photos and had felt tip markers ready for autographs.

In response, the Canadian actor took it all in stride while flashing his infectious smile. At the time, he was exiting a building in midtown Manhattan.

John Wick: Chapter 4 and the franchise

As the name suggests, John Wick: Chapter 4 is the fourth installment of the film franchise. It follows the retired hitman John Wick played by Keanu Reeves. 

He must find a way to defeat The High Table, the shadowy organization gripping him with its overwhelming influence.

However, he must face a new enemy with powerful alliances worldwide and old friends-turned-foes to earn his freedom.

It brings back old cast members, such as Laurence Fishbourne and Hiroyuki Sanada. Also, Chapter 4 introduces plenty of new characters, such as Caine, played by Donnie Yen.

As mentioned, Keanu Reeves has been busy promoting the film, attending advanced screenings of John Wick: Chapter 4.

Moreover, TikTok launched a trivia contest to promote the film, giving participants a chance to win $500,000.

The first film launched in 2014, becoming a global box office hit. It grossed $86 million against its budget of roughly $20-30 million. 

Chad Stahelski was the director, and Derek Kolstad wrote the story. Three years later, the duo returned to helm the sequel with Ian McShane, Bridget Moynahan, and John Leguizamo reprising their roles.

John Wick: Chapter 2 (2017) also had new cast members: Common (Lonnie Rashid Lynn), Lance Reddick, Laurence Fishburne, Peter Stormare, and Franco Nero.

The second sequel surpassed the first film, raking in $171.5 million from a $40 million budget. In 2019, Stehelski directed John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum.

Its new cast members included Mark Dacascos, Anjelica Houston, Halle Berry, and Asia Kate Dillon. 

Also, it followed the trend of the previous two films, earning $327.3 million against a budget of $75 million.
