The Daily Mail released images of the Suicide Squad star wandering aimlessly outside the Van Nuys Airport with sunken, dark eyes.
Some of the images showed her smoking on a pipe of some kind in her car.
Also, The Daily Mail’s sources say the fashion model seemed unable to control her movements after stepping outside and answering a phone call.
Cara Delevingne admitted that she had been lying to herself about her well-being. She only realized she needed help after seeing herself in the airport photos.
She explained, “I hadn’t slept. I was not okay” at first. However, she admitted, “It’s heartbreaking because I thought I was having fun, but at some point, it was like, ‘Okay, I don’t look well.’”
Her followers expressed concern for the fashion model after seeing the photos. More importantly, her friends and family visited her.
That made her realize how loved she was. Delevigne said, “From September, I just needed support. I needed to start reaching out.”
“And my old friends I’ve known since I was 13. They all came over, and we started crying. They looked at me and said, ‘You deserve a chance to have joy.’”
Eventually, she went into therapy, but she realized she had to stop chasing a “quick fix” to healing.
Cara Delevingne explained, “Before, I was always into the quick fix of healing, going to a weeklong retreat or to a course for trauma.…”
“…and that helped for a minute, but it didn’t ever really get to the nitty-gritty, the deeper stuff.”
As a result, she committed to a 12-step program. “I’m a lot more gentle with myself and nice to myself, and I think something’s changed this year, for sure.”
