Paltrow celebrated her current husband’s birthday a day before Martin’s. The Academy Award-winning actress shared a photo of him on Instagram.
It showed the 52-year-old executive producer with a beaming smile while looking away from the camera.
The Goop founder joked her current husband would not see her birthday greeting to Chris Martin because “he’s not on social:”
“He won’t see this as he’s not on social (another reason why he’s so cool), but let’s all wish him a happy birthday, anyway, Paltrow wrote, followed by a blue heart emoji.
The Hollywood actress and the British musician first met in 2002 while chilling backstage at a Coldplay concert.
They began dating and got married in 2003. After a decade, Martin and Paltrow had two kids, 18-year-old Apple and 16-year-old Moses.
In March 2014, they told the world they were splitting up in a post on a Goop webpage titled “Conscious Uncoupling:”
“It is with hearts full of sadness that we have decided to separate,” the couple wrote.
“We have come to the conclusion that while we love each other very much, we will remain separate.”
“We are, however, and always will be a family, and in many ways, we are closer than we have ever been.”
“We have always conducted our relationship privately, and we hope that as we consciously uncouple and co-parent…
“…we will be able to continue in the same manner,” the announcement concluded.
Also, the Oscar-winning actress told The Drew Barrymore Show in September 2020 that her relationship with her ex-husband has been “better than our marriage was.”
Later, Gwyneth Paltrow affirmed her positive relationship with Martin during a virtual appearance on Today: “You know, he’s my family. It worked out well. You know, it really did, I have to say.”
