Taylor Swift’s Song Has Fans Convinced It’s About Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber
Fans have speculated that one of Taylor Swift’s songs is linked to Selena Gomez’s relationship with pop star Justin Bieber.
Speculations come amid the recent online drama between Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber’s wife, Hailey Bieber.
A fan, @hey_itsruthy, recently shared a video on TikTok discussing the purported conflict between Gomez and Hailey.
The issue arose when fans accused the model and her friend, Kylie Jenner, of mocking the “Rare” singer, which has attracted media attention.

Fans and online users have compared Gomez and Hailey over time due to Gomez’s on-and-off relationship with Justin Bieber from 2010 to 2018. Shortly after their breakup, the “Baby” singer married Hailey.
The user @hey_itsruthy assessed rumors circling Taylor Swift’s release, “Question…?” from her latest album Midnights, saying, “Y’all talking about the Selena/Hailey drama, forgetting Taylor already wrote a song about it.”

Looking at the Song Lyrics
In the song, Taylor sings, “Did you leave her in the middle of the night?/ (Ooh) Did you wish you had put up more of a fight? (Ooh)/ When she said it was too much/ (Ooh) Do you still wish you could touch her?/ It is just a question.”
Fans are speculating that the use of the third-person in writing could be a tactic to question the ex of her friend, explicitly referring to Justin, who is Selena’s ex.
For the rest of the video, the fan went on to lip-sync the lyrics that she believed were about Justin beginning his relationship in 2018 with Hailey.
“Does it feel like everything is just like second-best after that meteor strike?” the song added.
“And what’s that? I heard that you’re still with her. / That’s nice. I’m sure that’s what’s suitable.”
The words “second best” and “suitable” were written by the TikTok user on the video’s text, assuming that Swift used these terms to refer to Hailey.
Furthermore, the user included a rolling eyes emoji next to “that’s nice” to indicate Swift’s sarcastic tone while allegedly criticizing Justin.
The user also suggested that “meteor strike” might be the phrase Swift used to describe and commend Gomez.
In addition, Taylor’s lyrics include the following: “Can I ask you something? Have you ever had someone kiss you in a crowded room/ And all of your friends were making fun of you/, But 15 seconds later, they were clapping too? Then what did you do?”
Many believe this verse alludes to Selena and Justin’s backstage kiss at the 2013 Billboard Music Awards, during which Taylor appeared disapproving.
The public also saw the “All Too Well” singer showing her tongue out. The singer passed by the Wizards of Waverly Place star. She also kissed Justin as they walked through a crowd.
Between Selena Gomez and Hailey Bieber
Rumors about an alleged feud between Gomez and Hailey began circulating in January.
Initially, fans speculated that Hailey’s deleted TikTok video that featured Kendall Jenner was directed at trolls body-shaming Gomez on Instagram.
However, Hailey dispelled this theory by stating in a TikTok comment that she was not aiming her video at anyone.
The rumors gained momentum when Kylie Jenner shared a screenshot of her and Hailey’s eyebrows. It made some fans believe they were mocking one of Gomez’s eyebrow-related TikTok posts.
Kylie later dismissed these claims. She stated in a TikTok comment that she had not seen Selena Gomez’s eyebrow posts. Kylie also said that the speculation was baseless.
“No shade towards Selena, and I didn’t see her eyebrow posts! You all are making something out of nothing. This is silly,” she said.
