Drake Opens Up About His Regrets Name-Dropping Exes in Songs
Over his illustrious career, the famous rapper Drake has repeatedly name-dropped his ex-lovers in his songs. But now the celebrity has revealed that he regrets doing so.
Drake explained to Lil Yachty on the premiere episode of Futuremood’s “A Moody Conversation,” saying, “I hate hearing that shit.”
“I think that sometimes when I have said girls’ names in my songs, maybe those are the things that I look back and go like, maybe I could’ve done without shitting on people or disrupting somebody’s life,” he elaborated.

He added, “The lyrics are never with ill intent, but I had somebody tell me once, ‘You know, it’s not just about what you say about me; it’s the fact that you said it.”
What Drake’s Exes Had to Say
Drake said that an ex had once told him, “You don’t know who my boyfriend is at the time or what my family knows or doesn’t know.
And if you show any form of discontent for me and mention my name in a song, then suddenly, I’m left to pick up the pieces of my life that I’ve tried to build up for myself.”
It led the rapper to look back and reconsider his actions. He stated, “So I’ve tried my best to stop. But I like to be truthful in music too, so that’s a push and pull.”

Which Exes Has Drake Mentioned in Songs?
Some of the names of former lovers Drake has mentioned in his songs include Rose Mary and Leanne Sealey in “Club Paradise,” Alisha in “Shot For Me,” Courtney in “From Time,” and Keshia Chanté in “In My Feelings.”
That’s only part of what they talked about during the interview. The “One Dance” rapper also hoped to make a “graceful exit” from making music.
“I’m now at a place where I just want to, and I feel like we talked about this the other day, but I’m kind of introducing the concept of a graceful exit in my mind,” he said.
“I feel like many people I’ve watched as the years have gone by, it’s an addictive and competitive space, and often you’re addicted to the competition itself,” he continued.
Drake Doesn’t Seem to be Quitting Anytime Soon
“I’m not ready yet, but to gracefully continue doing projects that are extremely interesting and hopefully loved by people, and then to find the right time to say, ‘I can’t wait to see what the next generation does.”
“I’ll still be around to work with people or do a show here or there, but I won’t force myself to compete. I would love to see what the next generation does whenever that time is.”
This statement tells us that although he has plans to exit the industry in a blaze of glory, it won’t be anytime soon.
Drake, now 36, has seven studio albums, one collaborative album, and seven mixtapes.
He has sold over 170 million records worldwide and is the most listened-to artist on Spotify, with over 55 billion streams.
