Red Deer is city of 107,073 in Alberta, Canada, about halfway between Calgary and Edmonton.
Its key industries are health care and social assistance; retail trade; construction; mining, quarrying and oil and gas extraction; accommodation and food services; manufacturing; and educational services.
Immigrants born in Asia made up the largest group of newcomers at 2,740 in the last 5 years, and of this, Filipinos were the largest group at 1,820.
The 2021 census found the number of immigrants in Red Deer has grown to at least 16,540 or 16.4 percent of the city’s population, from 14,685 in 2016.
