Humanity is at its best whenever a tragic incident arises. Salt Bae, the 39-year-old celebrity chef, went all out to help the victims of the Turkey earthquake by serving free meals.

Turkish chef Nusret Gökçe, aka Salt Bae, became an internet celebrity following his contents of meat seasoning. His restaurants are also famous for selling food at steep prices.

Recently, he received backlash from the online world due to his improper behavior during Qatar’s 2022 FIFA World Cup Finals. Internet users called him out for being so close to the players at the wrong moment.

Despite the negative criticisms, Salt Bae is now doing something worthwhile for his fellow Turkish people. He pledged to give hot meals to at least 5,000 survivors every day.

The famous restaurateur started by arranging a mobile kitchen in the disaster zone. He also describes his project as the “most important and meaningful service in the world.”

A 55-second video that the chef shared is now earning praise. In the clip, he showed how he and his team are helping the Turkish earthquake victims.

Adverse reactions to Salt Bae’s Food Drive

Although some of the viewers didn’t like the close-up view of the kitchen, many still appreciated his food drive to help the victims.

One user wrote, “In times of tragedy, it’s the ones who show up and make a difference that truly shines. May God bless and protect our heroes on the frontlines.”

Despite the good deed and positive feedback, some still saw it negatively. Other users saw it as a publicity stunt rather than a genuine desire to help.
