Filipino American experimental R&B star Steve Lacy won the 2023 Grammy Award for Best Progressive R&B Album for Gemini Rights.

Lacy also did a much-lauded rendition of his 2033 hit Bad Habit, which was also nominated for Song of the Year, Record of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance. He had two past nods for Best Urban Contemporary Album both in 2016 and 2020.

Lacy’s win for Best Progressive R&B Album is his first at the Grammys. He bested Tank and the Bangas (Red Balloon), Terrace Martin (Drones), Moonchild (Starfruit) and Cory Henry (Operation Funk).
